Why Can't I Stop Falling to Sin

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8 NIV)

Sin always entails self – deception. The moment you fall to sin, you are screwing yourself and it’s because you’re thinking that what you are doing will yield better outcomes rather than what the Lord has already instructed you to pull off.

In order to stop beating yourself, you need to stop fooling yourself. You must take a closer look of your life right now, review yourself, face your issues in life and confront the truth. What’s that thing in your life that you are making out not a problem? What’s that thing in your life that you are pretending you are not really addicted to? What’s that thing in your life that you are telling “it’s not really a big deal”?

It does not really matter whether you are taking drugs or shooting herion, whether you are looking at pornographic pictures or reading pornography. You are using everything just to flee from your sin and your pain. However you will not have healing until you acknowledge first the origin of the problem.

It is not necessary for you to strike the rock end before you truly change. A lot of reminders are happening everywhere around you and you ignore them. But instead, you are going to the path towards havoc.

However you don’t need to head that path. You can recognize the root cause of the problem and then deal with it. The Word of God says, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).

What are the wake-up calls you have been ignoring? What are the tricky questions in your life which you must resolve regarding sin?

If you want to be healed, you need to acknowledge first the root cause of your problem. You need to face bravely the truth about yourself.
